A constable was killed by Maoists while a naxalite was killed in an encounter with the police near Godu village in Piduguralla mandal on Friday. Palnadu dalam members shot dead the constable at Kocherla in the Guntur district. He was amongst the five who had gone to the village on bandobust for 'Ankamma' Annual Festival. Naxals snatched an SLR and twenty rounds of ammunition. The police said four naxals shot dead the constable hailing from Cuddapah from a close range. In Adilabad a home guard was shot at and seriously injured on Friday by three armed naxals.
