Changala Venkata Rao, film producer and TDP MLA attempted suicide over his latest film 'Narasimhudu' not getting a simultaneous release in the State by jumping into Hussainsagar lake on Sunday. He was rescued by an alert Lake Police team and shifted to a corporate hospital where he is recovering.
The police booked a case against the MLA under section 309 of the IPC. According to police sources, he along with his brother was traveling in a van and stopped it near Tank Bund. He jumped into the lake. Speaking to reporters Mr.Venkatarao said he was agitated over the film not being released all over the State simultaneously, he would resign from the party and as well as the Assembly.
