The Superintendent of Police, N Madhusudhan Reddy on Tuesday denied reports published in a section of press that the Maoists had been poisoned before being killed in the encounter.
The postmortem examination on the ten slain naxals went off peacefully at the Government Area Hospital amid protests by human rights organization stating that the Monday's encounter was fake. Pressured by these allegations, the Home Minister K Jana Reddy took the unusual step of ordering the post mortem to be conducted in the presence of a human rights judge and the proceeds video graphed. Eight doctors including three lady doctors brought from Nizamabad completed the autopsy by 2pm and the police pressurized the relatives to burn the bodies instead of cremation. The viscus was sealed for further examination at the Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad. The autopsy on all bodies was almost over, by the time the designated Human Rights Judge and Fifth Additional District Judge, Anwaruddin reached the hospital.
