The district police have sounded high alert apprehending retaliatory attacks by the naxals in the wake of the Manala encounter in neighboring Nizamabad district.
Vulnerable police stations have been fortified by deploying additional forces. Police pickets have been posted at all vital installations and patrolling intensified where VIPs and targets reside. All targets have been alerted and asked not to venture into the rural ares without informing the police. The police have also intensified vehicle checks and cordon and search operations in select areas. The APSRTC has curtailed it services.
