The Government is contemplating scrapping science courses in the colleges where the student strength is be below 20 in the next academic year. Speaking at a press conference at Banswada on Sunday, the Minister for Higher Education, Pinnamaneni Venkateswararao said aided colleges in the State were in appalling condition and they needed improvement.
He said all steps were being taken to ensure smooth conduct of Intermediate examinations and also warned private colleges of severe action if they were found guilty of encouraging malpractice. He said the Government would not compromise on the quality of education. Speaking about vacant lecturer posts, he said they would be filled in the next two years.
