Eluru - East Godavari, March 7, 2005

A meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Journalists' Union State Council held on Sunday urged the State Government to fill the post of chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh Press Academy by election instead of nomination.

According to the APJU vice preside PG Krishnamurty, the meeting highlighted the need for filing of the post as per the choice of the Journalist community as a whole. The union requested the Government to grant pension to the retired journalists on the lines of Kerala Government.
