Security tightened for repost mortem of Ravi

Anantapur, March 6, 2005

Heavy security arrangements have been made for the re-post mortem on the mortal remains of Paritala Ravi who was shot dead on January 24, 2005 at Venkatapuram village in Ramagiri mandal on Monday. The re-post mortem has been necessitated as the first post mortem had to be gone through in haste due to the frenzied atmosphere in and around General Hospital. Only one bullet out of a dozen pumped into the body was removed. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the case, has sought re-post mortem and has accordingly taken permission from the Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO).

A three-member team of forensic doctors form General Hospital attached to Government College will conduct the re post mortem. Experts of the Central forensic Science Laboratory, sletuths of the CBI and district police officers will be present. In this context, official told, the CBI ad obtained the consent of Paritala's family members through it was not required legally. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC would be clamped in Ramagiri area till completion of the exercise.
