There was an exchange of fire between naxals and police near Kamalapur forest and according to the Additional SP VR Kalidas, the police party confronted the Pratighatana naxals while combing the forest area. On seeing the police, the naxals opened fire at the police who retaliated. However, no causalities were reported.
