Naxals killed in an encounter

Warangal, March 2, 2005

Three naxals were killed in an exchange of fire near the Bussapur forest area of Govdindaraopet mandal on Wednesday. According to information a group of fifteen naxals have been camping on the village outskirts for the last thee days and summoning contractors and traders. They have been demanding party fund.

Vexed with the extortions some of the victims passed on information about their movement and a special police party who went for combing operation in the forest spotted areas. On seeing the policemen, the naxals opened fire despite a plea to surrender. In retaliation, the police opened fire and in the course of action, three naxals were found dead. The CPI (Maoist) naxals shot dead the sarpanch of TRS in Mirjampeta village in the early hours of Wednesday.
