APSRTC Strike deferred

Hyderabad, March 15, 2005

The APSRTC Employees Union and Karmik Sangh have called of their proposed indefinite strike from Wednesday after prolonged discussions with the Government and the Stated owned Corporation. At the end of three hours negotiations on Tuesday, the Government agreed to rationalize the motor vehicle tax payable by the APSRTC. The revised MV tax will be fixed soon.

The Transport Minister, S.Santosh Reddy in whose chambers the meeting was held told the union leaders that it was in the best interests of the corporation and employees to await the report of the high level committee headed by the Chief Secretary, Mohan Kanda.
