Naxalites attacked the APSRTC bus station at Yellandu in the early hours of Sunday. They damaged the glass panes of five buses and thrashed two persons including a porter for coming into their way.
Commuters were alarmed as the naxals ventured to use mines for blowing up the bus station building but they relented on their own. The police upon information responded cautiously. In the operation, nearly ten naxals participated and the note left at the place denouncing the Manala encounter and was signed by Sudhakar, secretary of the Manguru-Kothagudem area committee. In Adilabad, Maoists burned three tippers near Chintalapudi-Lingala village in Venmanpalli mandal on Sunday. According to the SP, Kripanand Tirpathi Ujela, eight naxals descended on the roadwork site and broke diesel tanks open and set the tippers afire.
