Laborers buried alive

Five laborers were buried alive when earth caved in while they were quarrying gravel at Kothakara, a hamlet of Bhairipuram panchayat in the district on Sunday.

On receiving information about the mishap, the SP Swathi Lakra, the Joint Collector, K Siddhartha Gowtam, the ZP Chairperson BJ Lakshmi and other officials rushed to the spot. The ZP chairperson said that she would recommend to the Government for housing and other benefits.
