Criminal killed in an encounter

Anantapur, March 13, 2005

A suspected hired killer, Talari Annaiah was killed in an alleged encounter with the police near Alur village in Tadipatri mandal in the early hours of Sunday.

The SI suffered splinter injuries on his legs when Annaiah and one of his accomplices hurled four country bombs on the police team that had confronted them. According to police, the Tadipatri DSP M.Ravaipraksh, had formed three special teams to nab Annaiah and his gang after the murder of one Nazeer at Tadipatri. He and his gang went underground. On information about his whereabouts, the police acted and in confrontation, the police shot dead the wanted criminal.
