Eleven RTC bus passengers electrocuted
Hyderabad

In a gory accident, eleven persons were charred to death when a low lying live 11 kv electric line fell on an APSRTC bus at Ponnampalle village in Mylavearam mandal in Cuddapah district on Wednesday. The eleven includes two teachers who going for the ‘Badi Batta’ programme and two other intermediate students.

The Chief Minister expressed shock over the incident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs.2 lakhs each to the next of kin of the victims. He directed the Collector to enquire into the circumstances that led to the mishap.

SP condemns killing of home guard

The Superintendent of Police, Sanjay Kumar Jain condemned the killing of the home guard K.Balabbi by Naxals at G.Madugula in the district branding him as an informer.

He advised the Girijans to beware of the naxals recruiting young tribals in their squads and using them as couriers.

Fake certificates and currency racket busted in Anantapur
Anantapur

The Guntakal police have busted a fake currency and education certificates racket and arrested five persons allegedly involved in the illegal activity. The police have seized fake currency notes worth about Rs.one lakh and more than ten thousand certificates for various degrees and diplomas offered by various universities.

They seized two computers, a colour printer and more than one hundred rubber stamps. The Superintendent of Police RS Praveen Kumar told press persons on Wednesday that a police tem led by the Guntakal DSP KV Mohan Rao and other officers raided the house of Briggs on Tuesday evening and caught him along with two accomplices red handed when they were printing fake currency notes. Investigating is going on.

MSR denies involvement in the land scam

The Minister for Endowments, M.Satyanarayanarao who came to participate in the Zilla Parishad general body meeting on Wednesday speaking to reporters that not a single acre of temple land had been lost. He said that he had come out spotless during his fifty one years political life have occupied various posts at the State and national levels.
