Naxals blast Alubaka Telephone Exchange
Khammam
The Telephone Exchange at Alubaka village was blasted by naxals in the early hours of Friday. According to information, nearly twenty naxals led by Sukhdev, secretary of Wajeedu Local Guerilla Squad entered the exchange and blasted with explosives. The loss is estimated more than Rs.20 lakhs.

CM launches campaign on crop insurance benefits
Hyderabad
The Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, flagged off with a note of dissent a 30 day awareness campaign on the benefits of crop insurance taken up by the Agricultural Insurance Company of India. Five mini vans of the company will visit 1500 villages throughout the State during the period to explain to farmers various details like how to apply for the scheme and the premium payable. The agricultural Minister, N.Raghuverra Reddy who was present said the Centre was in the process of taking the views of the States on making changes to the scheme.
