The police are considering handing over the shooting case involving cine actor, Balakrishna to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to get the truth out. The Government is yet to take a decision in this regard. The Director General of Police, Swaranjit Sen on Saturday said a decision would be taken after taking a legal opinion. According to sources, the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad V.Dinesh Reddy wrote to the DGP requesting him to hand over the case to the CBI following recent developments in the court wherein the witnesses turned hostile.
The Central Bureau of Investigation is the premier investigation agency of India. The CBI reports to the Government of India and not to the state government and deals with cases that are of high repurte and of importance to the nation.
