SP Surendra Babu cremated with state honours

Hyderabad, January 7, 2005

Amid heart rending scenes and a charged atmosphere, KC Surendra Babu, the Munger Superintendent of Police who was killed in a landmine blast in Bihar was cremated with state honours at Nalgoandla in Ramachandrapuram on Friday.

The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy called on the grieving family and laid a wreath on the body in the morning. He consoled his parents and spent a few minutes with them. Almost the entire top brass of the State Police were present at the slain SP's residence in BHEL from the morning. After paying homage to their colleague, they were busy supervising the arrangements for the cremation process. The Director General of Police (DGP), Swaranjit Sen, the City Police Commissioner, V Dinesh Reddy and Cyberabad Police Commissioner, M Mahender Reddy were among those who were present.
