A youngster who tried to loot a bank was nabbed by the police as he hid himself in a water tank atop the building after local people surrounded the bank and alerted the police in the early hours of Monday. The intruder identified as Mahender Reddy tried to drill a hole in the wall of the Andhra Bank building situated on Medchaal road on city fringes. In the process, the noise attracted attention of the locals living in the huts behind the building. Police teams that rushed there obviously knew where to look for him. They pulled out a drenched and shivering Reddy from the water tank.
