K Srinath Reddy, Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiology at the prestigious medicial institution of the county, the AIIMS, was awarded the Padma Bhushan for his services rendered to the field of medicine. Dr. Reddy who is widely regarded as a leader of preventive cardiology both within and outside the country played an active role in advancing the agenda of tobacco control. He has more than 200 scientific publications including those in some of the leading international journals.
