Saibaba agrees to give funds

Anantapur, January 2, 2005

The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Sunday announced that Sri Satya Sai Baba agreed to fund a drinking water project for upland areas in East and West Godavari districts. The Chief Minister called on Saibaba at Prashanti Nilayam and after seeking his blessings, he apprised him of the Government's plans to complete the pending irrigation projects. He also discussed two drinking water projects.

The Chief Minister learnt to have sought Saibaba's financial assistance for extension of the Pulivendula branch Canal of High level Canal in the Vempalle area in Cuddapah district. The Chief Minister clarified that there will be no change in the free power supply scheme.
