Land mines unearthed

Kurnool, January 2, 2005

The police unearthed three powerful landmines near Rollapenta in Nallamala forest at Atmakur in Kurnool district on Sunday. Two of the landmines, each weighing seven kgs. were stuffed in plastic buckets while the other was in an Aluminium box. The mines were believed to have been planted six months ago to target officials who had to travel on the metal road to reach Peddacheruvu.
