APSRTC bus burnt by naxals

Karimnagar, January 18, 2005

Naxals suspected belonging to Janashakti torched a bus belonging to the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) at the outskirts of Rudrangi village of Chandurthi mandal on Tuesday. Police sources said that the bus was proceeding from Kortula to Vemulawada when three armed naxals stopped the bus in the forest and forced the passengers to alight and broke diesel tank. They then set the bus on fire. They left a note at the site stating that they had resorted to the act in protest against the Avunuru encounter in which their comrade was killed.
