Kalachakra Initiation Programme 2006 to be held at Amaravati from January 5 to 16, 2006
Arrangements are in full swing for the conduct of Kalachakra Initiation Programme 2006 at Amaravati from January 5 to 16, 2006 with both the 'Mahastupas' at Amaravati and Nagarajunakonda getting a facelift. The Tibetan pilgrims have begun arriving in thousands occupying accommodation in tents at six sites and the district administration is providing sanitation and water supply.
The organizers Norbulingka Institute are regularly monitoring the progress of works and erection of the tent at the main preaching site where the Dalai Lama will conduct rituals for 12 days from January 5. Superintendent of Police VC Sajjanar opened the police outpost at Kalachakra 2006 site and Sub Inspector will monitor it for the time being and later to be taken over by a Circle Inspector. Thirty two cameras have been placed all around the place to monitor the movements of people from the control room in the outpost. Six crime squads have been brought from other districts and Blue Colts squads also have been deployed.
