The fourth edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2006 beginning on January 7 would see the launch of Universal Integral Electronic Remittance Gateway for the benefit of the Non Resident Indians and handing over the first Overseas Citizenship certificate.
Addressing a press conference on Friday, Union Minister of State for Overseas Indian Affairs Oscar Fernandez and the Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy said arrangements were in full swing for the three day event in which 1200 delegates representing the quintessential Indian Diaspora abroad would participate. The Prime Minister of India would inaugurate the Divas and the President APJ Abdul Kalam present Pravasi Bharatiya Samman to distinguished overseas Indians on the concluding day.
