The Bio-diversity Research Wing of the Nagarjuna Sagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve has discovered two spiders which are claimed to be known to the world first time. The features of the two species christened poecilopheria Nallamalailnensis and tumarus Srisailamnesisis forwarded to the Zoological Survey of India for formal announcement.
The Nallamala forest which is one of the vibrant hot spot on the globe is home for hundreds of animal and plant species. Eighty nine species of butterflies have been spotted in the forest. So far, experts have recorded 1400 plant species growing in the Nallamala and 353 of them are medicinal plants.
