Irate family members and friends of I. Anuradha, senior assistant in the Tribal Welfare Department on Thursday staged a dharna in front of the Collector's residence with her body demanding that her colleague who had allegedly humiliated her be suspended immediately. Anuradha was placed under suspension on charge of committing certain irregularities. Her family members, friends and the members of the SC Employee's Association kept the body on the road in front of the Collector's bungalow and raised slogans.
The leaders met the Collector K Vijayanand and submitted a memorandum seeking suspension of her colleague and requested him to use his good offices to take care of her kids. The leaders claimed that the Collector had assured them of looking into the matter. Meanwhile, the One Town police booked a case against Naik on the basis of a complaint by Anuradh's husband.
