The Minister for Primary Education, N Rajya Lakshmi has hinted at a series of reforms in the field of education to make it more purpose oriented. The Minister, who had a hectic programmes in Kovvur Assembly constituency on Saturday said it was the aim of the Government to usher in a number of changes in the existing education system.
Accordingly there was a plan to reduce the syllabus in X class and to curtail the number of question papers. In addition it was the sincere intention of Government to reduce the burden of growing number of text books for students. She referred to the concept of model villages, which would come into force from April I and said it would usher in a number of development programmes and ensure a sea change in the villages within a span of three years.
