The Minister for Lift Irrigation M.Mareppa adopted three HIV positive children on Thursday while participating in the Worlds Aids Day Programmes. After taking part in the rally and addressing an awareness meeting, the Minister visited Mercy Home on the outskirts of the city where the HIV positive patients wee given shelter.
During an interaction with the patients, Mr.Mareppa deeply moved by the condition of the three children and spontaneously responded by adopting all the three children. The Minister gave an amount of Rs.5000 immediately to the custodians of the children and asked his brother in law Balaraju to provide them nutritional diet. He said that AIDS could be effectively tackled by taking the infected people into confidence.
