The Achampet Mandal Congress president, Madusudana Reddy shot dead by naxals at Kuljala village of Achampet mandal.
According to police sources, he was attacked by a group of eight naxals including women cadre. The Mahabubnagar SP Viram Singh Mann said the killing could be the handiwork of an action team. He said three parties had been dispatched to the mandal. In the district the Maoists went on the rampage setting ablaze five RTC buses protesting against the killing of the district committee member, Pushpakka. In another incident, six armed naxals forcibly stopped four buses on the outskirts of Gopalarao thanda of Balamur mandal and set ablaze.
