The CPI (Maoist) has claimed responsibility for the Claymore mine attack on the Superintendent of Police, Mahesh Chandra Laddha at Ongole. They claimed that no suicide bomber was involved in the incident. They warned the Government of dire consequences if it used the attack as an excuse and mounted repression Maoists. They warned him dire consequences and they would not spare other police officers of dire consequences and will not let them go. However, they expressed regret over the death of two innocent persons during the operation.
