Two top naxals including a woman were killed in an encounter in the early hours of Saturday on the outskirts of Achampet. According to Superintendent of Police, Vikram Singh Mann told to reporters at a press conference that the CPI (Maoist) district committee member and action team member Santosh and his wife Puspakka, a member of the special guerrilla squad were killed in the encounter. He said the duo had been leading an underground life of the past twelve years and were involved over 14 offences.
