The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy announced a Rs. 253 crore scheme, Ambedkar Jeevan Dhara to provide drinking water to all the 21407 uncovered dalitwads. He was speaking at the Government sponsored State level celebrations to mark the 115th birth anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar at the Tank Bund.
Activists of Mala and Madiga castes raised slogans against the Chief Minister and police were left with no alternative expect to use lathicharge to disburse the agitators.
