Praja Padham, a social audit of the Government's performance was launched on Monday by the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The Chief Minister performed 'Shramadaan' on the lake bed and interacted with laborers about the benefits of the Food for work Programme and sought out the reasons for their migration from their native villages. A similar exercise was undertaken by the local MLAs and officials received complaints of discrepancies in the selection of beneficiaries under programmes like housing, land distribution and complaints of delayed payment of wages under the nation Food for work Programme.
The Chief Minister sanctioned Rs. 4 crores for a water scheme on the spot at Himayatsagar following complaints from the Minister for Mines, Sabitha Indra Reddy and AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi. The main high lights of People's empowerment process, Drinking water shortage, Officials asked to act fast and none be allowed to go hungry.
