Sudden hailstorm and thundershowers wreaked havoc in some parts of the district on Thursday evening causing extensive damage to the existing crops adding to woes of farmers. Manago and citrus plantations were damaged extensively in the upland of the mandals. The paddy fields were damaged in Huzurabad, Jammikunta and Kamalapur mandals also.
The District Collector, C Parthasarathi along with the RDO visited the hailstorm affected Bejjanki mandal villages and consoled the farmers and instructed the authorities to enumerate crop losses to submit a report to the Government.
