Claymore mines recovered in Kurnool

The police dug out eight powerful directorional claymore mines near Bandi Atmakur in the district on Monday. According to reports reaching here, each explosive weighing four kilos and containing two electric detonators were buried two meters away from the road margin. According to the SP VRK.Mohanarao
TDP activist killed in Anantapur
Anantapur
The Mandal Praishad President and another TDP activist were allegedly killed by Congress rivals in the Mandal on previous day night, even before the TDP leaders were on the way to protest against the killings of the MPP T.Prabhakar. The activist who was working as a lineman of AP Transco was on night duty and two persons woke him up and hacked to death.

While he was moved immediately to Government Hospital for treatment and in his dying declaration given to the Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate, he named some of the Congress Sarpanches and three hired killers. The former Chief Minister, N.Chandrababunaidu charged the Government with making 'political gains through murders' and asked to quit if he failed to control the situation.

The Viswa Hindu Praishad leader Praveen Bhai Togadia against whom a criminal case was registered on April 11 when he allegedly made provocative speeches in Hyderabad was arrested by Hyderabad Police on Monday. The Congress General Secretary in charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs, Digvijay Singh on Monday asserted that the AICC president Ms.Sonia Gandhi was very firm to ensure reservation for women in Assemblies and Parliament. Addressing Mahila Congress workers at the Dr.Ambedkar Bhavan, he recalled how the Women's Reservation Bill had failed to become a statute because Mohanarao, the explosives could have left a trail for devastation if detonated.
