KCR statement against Sonia Gandhi criticized

The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president, D.Srinivas has said that the Congress will not be in a position to tolerate the irresponsible statements given by TRS president K.Chandrasekhara Rao in the recent past against the AICC president Sonia Gandhi and the Chief Minister, YS.Rajasekhara Reddy. He said and that if the same situation go on, there is no alterative left to the party to review its stand in respect of ties with TRS.Commenting on the statements issued by the TRS president, the AICC in charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs Mr. Digvijay Singh said that 'there is no question of tolerating such a behavior from a responsible leader'.

Tension as Dr. Ambedkar Statue vandalized in Rajahmundry

A life size statue of Dr.BR.Ambedkar is to replace the bust of the leader which was vandalized by some unidentified miscreants at Amalapuram on Wednesday night. Tension prevailed in Amalapuram over the unfortunate incident. According to the SP Navin Chand, the situation was brought under control immediately.

In Kakinada, a sizable number of Dalit students owing allegiance to SC Federation youth have staged protest demonstrations at the Zilla Parishad centre and dharna in front of the Collectors office on Saturday expressing their resentment over the issue.

Justice Punnaiah felicitated

The Chairman of the AP Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Commission, Justice K.Punnaiah has advised lawyers to visit villages every month and educate rural people on the latter's rights and importance of courts of law which would help prevent all social evils, while addressing a meeting of the SC Advocates' Welfare Association on Saturday.

Felicitating Mr.Punnaiah, the association members submitted a memorandum to him seeking implementation of the rule of reservations in the appointments of Government pleaders, Assistant Government Pleaders, Public Prosecutors and standing counsel in public sector undertakings.

Fake currency racket busted
Kakinada
The Razole police on Saturday nabbed three persons allegedly involved in a fake currency racket while they were moving under suspicious circumstances near the bus stand. The police recovered 20 fake notes Rs.100 denomination from their possession. During interrogation, these three confessed to have been involved in printing fake notes.
