Three fake naxals killed
Mahabubnagar

Three fake naxalites including the leader of the eight member gang were killed by villagers of Takara of Hanwada mandal in the early hours of Thursday. Others escaped from the scene. The police have recovered four country made weapons and five kit bags containing ammunition and other articles. According to information, the residents of the village, the gang has been indulging in extortion. The gang has targeted Varaprasad Rao, a former village office.

Covert escapes from hideout
Guntur

The alleged covert, Kotya Naik who was kidnapped by naxalites of the CPI (Maoist) ten days back escaped from the hideout of the naxals somewhere in the Karempudi mandal of Guntur district. He said he had no links either with naxals or police as alleged by the CPI (Maoist).

Special drive by Congress in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam

The Congress party will launch a special drive to enroll new members from November 1st to 10th. Informing this to reporters on Thursday, the APCC President and Rural Development Minister, D.Srinivas said that this was being taken up on the advice of the AICC. Renewal of membership was completed in 16 districts and the exercise was on in another four districts he stated.

ACB raid on District Inspector of Legal Metrology
Hyderabad

Officials of the Anti Corruption Bureau arrested one Putla Arjun Kumar, District Inspector of Legal Metrology working in the Meter Fitting unit after finding his assets were disproportionate to his known sources of income. Simultaneous raids were conducted in Mahabubnagar and Hyderabad and the authorities found three houses in Sainathnagar and Vansthalipuram, four house plots in Hayatnagar and other areas, bank deposits, gold ornament and other valuables all worth Rs.35 lakhs.

Crackers burst – 11 children survives with injuries
Ongole

Eleven Dalit children suffered burn injuries when they lighted the crackers left unused by Congress workers in their school premises after the Chief Minister’s visit on Wednesday. The doctors said that the children received ten to fifteen percent and could recover in two or three days.
