Major fire mishap in DGP office
A major fire broke out in the office of the DGP near Ravindra Bharati in the wee hours of Tuesday. Nearly 10 computers, records and furniture were totally destroyed. The alerted security guards informed immediately after noticing the smoke coming out of the four storied building informed the fire personnel who rushed the spot and fought nearly two hours to bring to normalcy. It is estimated a loss of Rs 12 lakhs due to the accident.

The AP Transco officials who visited the site of the accident said that the accident occurred due to short circuit in the electrical wiring. The Saifabad police who began investigation called in experts from fire personnel and CLUES team to collect evidence and ascertain the reasons and booked a case of fire accident and alter the section of law, any anything suspicious is found during the course of investigation.

Compensation for project hit farmers

The construction work which was stalled by the CPI (Maoist) aimed at relocating two villages from the submerged areas of Akkampalluy Balancing Reservoir, the Minister for Major Irrigation, Ponnala Laxmaih on Tuesday directed the officials to make arrangements for payment of compensation for the affected farmers.

Numerous petitions to Naxal top leaders

As many as 700 petitions on a variety of problems ranging from domestic violence to bank frauds were received by the CPI (Maoist) and CPI (ML) Janashakti leaders at the Guthikonda Bilam public meeting and during their stay at the Manjeera guest house.

At a news conference on Tuesday, Sudhakar, the party leader said the majority of the 150 applications pertains to land problems, 81 Dalit, minorities and social problems, 70 workers, 45 employees, 35 women and domestic violence, 25 economic problems and 20 corruption and certain other categories. The petitions would be handed over tot the Government to find solutions.
