Arrangements in place for peace talks with Naxals
Hyderabad

All the necessary arrangements for the peace talks between the naxal leaders and the Government scheduled to be held on 15th at 10am were ready. Both the parties are well prepared with their respective strategies for talks across the table. It is believed that the historic talks definitely will influence the other parts of the Country where this type of situation prevails.

In an historic event, the Peoples War announced its merger with Maoist Communist Centre of India and is named as 'Communist Party of India (Maoists)' and hereto they will be known under this banner. PW State secretary said that the merger was taken place on 21st September in the deep forests itself at an undisclosed place but the announcement was withheld for security reasons. The PW Central Committee Ganapati had been elected general secretary of the new party. Ramakrishna describing the merger as a victory of the oppressed people.

Mr.Ramakrsihana said the new party would take up State wide week long campaigns to spread the message about the merger from November 7th and will hold a public meeting in Hyderabad on November 16th. Elaborate arrangements have been made at the Dr.Marri Chenna Reddy HRD Institute in Jubliee Hills, the venue for talks. 28 designated representatives will participate while the Home Minister, K.Jana Reddy will act as ombudsman.

The talks are scheduled to be held between 10am to 5pm for three days and if necessary it may be extended. People across the State are eagerly awaiting the outcome and are optimistic out come of the talks.

Deputy Excise Commissioner suspended
Hyderabad

The Deputy Excise Commissioner, K.Narayana, an IAS officer was suspend on whom a criminal charge was lodged. Mr.Narayana got embroiled in a controversy when one Narmada of Adilabad claimed that she was his second wife and had two children by him, which was confirmed after a DNA test conducted and the claim was proved. Basing on the biological test report, he was suspended on Thursday.

ZP chief and six members of TRS join Congress
Hyderabad

It is a major blow to the TRS when the Zilla Parishad Chairman KV Rajeshwararao and six other members of the ZPTC of TRS joined the Congress on Thursday. They told the reporters that the opportunistic policies of the TRS president, K.Chandrasekhara Rao made them for this cross over. They met the Chief Minister and thanked him and other Congress leaders for admitting them into the party.

Basava Punnaiah appointed Chairman of PCC Disciplinary panel
Hyderabad

The former MP S.Basava Punnaiah has been appointed as chairman of the disciplinary committee of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee.

The PCC chief D.Srinivas in a press note issued announced the names of the committee members. The first meeting of the committee will be held on 17th October at Gandhi Bhavan.

ASI shoots himself
Hyderabad

An Assistant Reserve Sub Inspector M.Ramesh Rao committed suicide by shooting himself with his carbine on Thursday morning at the Dabeerpura police station barracks. The reasons for the suicide are not yet known but a couple of sentences said no one is responsible for his suicide.
