Sushil Kumar Shinde is new Governor of Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad

Susheel Kumar Sambhaji Rao ShindeFormer Maharashtra Chief Minister Susheel Kumar Sambhaji Rao Shinde was on Thursday sworn in as new Governor of Andhra Pradesh at a simple ceremony at the Raj Bhawan. Mr Shinde will become the 19th Governor of Andhra Pradesh.

Mr Shinde succeeds Surjit Singh Barnala who is appointed as the Governor of Tamil Nadu. Surjit Singh Barnala was administered oath of office in Hindi by the Andhra Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Devendra Gupta.

Speaking with the press, Mr. Shinde said, "Earlier I was chief minister. Now I am governor. In either position, I can serve the people"
