Dalits arrested for hoisting red flags
Ongole

Three Dalits including the former Sarpanch were arrested by the police for allegedly hoisting red flags on endowment and other lands at Kandular village to encroach them. They were produced in the court which remanded them to judicial custody. The village has been witnessing hectic activity for the last three days when Dalits occupied 16 acres of land belong to the Magunta Raghava Reddy and 40 acres of Government banjar land by planting red flags.

Strike by SBI employees paralyzed work

The one day nation wide strike by the State Bank of India 13,000 employees and six thousand officers on Friday demanding their long pending demands be solved and opposing attack on trade union right by the management paralyzed the banking operations. According the SBI Staff Union Hyderabad Circle General Secretary, MV Mulali, their demands include compassionate appointments, enhanced welfare fund, fresh recruitment, outsourcing and interest rates on staff advances.

Bommana Ramachararao passed away

The Noted cloth merchant Bommana Ramachandrarao passed away in the early hours of Friday due to cardiac arrest. He was born in 1936 at Tanuku in West Godavari and migrated to Rajahmundry in 1950 and started a cloth business.
