Vizag Hospital gets ISO certification
Visakhapatnam
The Lazarus Hospital here has received the ISO 9001:2000 certification for its patient care, especially in its outpatient wing. According to the MD in a press conference told reporters that it is the first hospital in the State outside Hyderabad to receive the ISO certification.
YSR inducts 24 ministers to his cabinet
The State Cabinet of the newly formed Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy-led Congress Government was included with 24 ministers at a program held in Hyderabad today at around 11.46 AM. Governor of Andhra Pradesh Sri Surjith Singh Barnala, Officials of the Government, Members of the newly formed Assembly and others were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
The YSE team of 24 Ministers striking a deft balance between various castes and groups within the Congress an exercise that will be complete when he expands his Cabinet next month. As many as 14 Ministers belong to the weaker sections and minorities. Justifying Dr.Reddy's claim later that he had rendered social justice by giving them more than the usual 50 per cent representation sought to bolster his position by packing the team with his loyalists clearly with the Congress high Command's approval. The Governor administered the oath of office and secrecy to the Ministers all of them of Cabinet rank.

Rajyalakshmi quits over denial of berth to husband

The constitution of Union Cabinet on Saturday had its echo in the State where a newly inducted Minister N. Rajyalakshmi wife of the former Chief Minister and newly elected MP N.Janaradhana Reddy, tendering her resignation from the Cabinet here on Saturday.
Mrs.Rajyalakshmi was sworn in Cabinet Minister with portfolio of primary education this afternoon.. According to party sources, she was unhappy over her husband who was elected from Visakhapatnam as an MP not being inducted into the Central Cabinet following 'One family, one post' rule. Ms.Rajyalakshmi sent her resignation to the Governor as soon as she learnt about the constitution of the Union Cabinet
Seven more ryots ends life
Miryalaguda
Three farmers in Miryalaguda and another ryot in Bhongir mandal allegedly committed suicide due to mounting debts on Saturday. In Kurnool a cotton farmer identified as Pedda Rangaiah committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Somayajulapalli village .In Anantapur two more farmers in the district today ended life by consuming pesticide.
Two coal miners die in mishap
Adilabad
Two miners died and three others received injuries in a mishap at the Somagudem mines in the Mandamarri area of the Singareni Collieries Company limited on Saturday. This was the second mishap at the SCCL mines within eight days.
