Congress sweeps polls in Andhra Pradesh

The Congress got a two-third majority in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections. Smiles and happiness filled in all the faces of Congress workers all over the state as the part got victory in areas there were unexpected to bring it a majority. Congress won as many as 213 of the 294 seats.

TDP Party President N Chandrababu Naidu spoke with the press this morning and accepted his defeat. He later met Governor Surjeet Singh Barnala and submitted his resignation. He said, we worked for the state day and night to build a model state but after the election results now, we will go with the people's verdict and we will sit as the opposition and play a constructive role
The Election Results counting process began at around 8 in the morning all over the state with Election Commission officials taking it easy to count the votes with the help of Electronic Voting Machines.
The Congress and its alliance TRS and the Left Parties have won in many places and are leading in many others areas where results are yet to come in. The TDP's alliance with BJP have failed to get wins during this election.
Prominent personalities who lost during this elections includes K Pratibha Bharti, Dr.K Haribabu, P Nageshwara Rao, A Narendra, Babu Mohan, Kotagiri Vidhyadhara Rao, Vadde Sobhanadreswara Rao, Dr K Laxman and C Krishna Yadav.
