Naidu administers oath to candidates

Hyderabad

The Telugu Desam Party President Mr.N.Chandra babu Naidu sounds confident of a victory for the party with a bigger majority in the Assembly elections if party candidates effectively communicate to the voters the good work done by the State Government. At an oath taking ceremony for party candidates at NTR Bhavan on Wednesday Mr.Naidu appealed to the candidates not to spare any effort to tell voters about the achievements of the Government. He would himself launch the month long 'mana votu, mana bhavishyathu programme of contacting 294 voters everyday on the telephone on Thursday to explain the development.

Nominations filing program begins

Following the issue of election notification for the first phase of polling on April 20 in 21 Lok Sabha and 147 Assembly constituencies in the State, nominations were open today from 11am to 3pm. Reports says that nominations began on a dull note and the total tally was only around 10.

Naxals blasts RTC Bus in Warangal

According to a report from Warangal, naxals burnt an RTC bus near Devadula in the district late last night and left a letter warning the management not to run buses beyond three trips to the agency.

Speakers at a convention of the Mhila Aikya Vedika on Wednesday demanded that all political parties honor the commitment given to women that 33 per cent quota would be implemented while selecting candidates for the elections.

BJP threatens to work against TDP in Cuddapah

BJP leaders on Wednesday charged the TDP's Rajya Sabha member C.Ramachandraiah, the former MLA, M.V.Mysoora Reddy and the district TDP president K.Sivananda Reddy with 'obstructing' the allotment of the Proddatur seat to the BJP and threatened to work against TDP contestants, notwithstanding the alliance between them.

Two ex-MLAS quit Congress at Visakhapatnam

Two former MLAs of the Congress have resigned from the party following selection of a former MLA Pasupuleti Balaraju as the party candidate for Chintapalli Assembly seat. The two former MLAs are T.Chittinaidu and G.Appalanaidu who are aspirants for the party's ticket announced their resignation on Wednesday.
