The BJP State Election Committee will meet here on Tuesday morning to shortlist and recommend to the Parliamentary Board the aspirants for 27 Assembly and remaining four Lok Sabha constituencies to be contested by it under the seat sharing arrangements with the TDP.

The announcement of the first list of 72 candidates by the TDP has set off protests by party men expressing unhappiness at the leadership over its voice of nominees. In an open display of defiance, party leaders from several districts shouted slogans in NTR Bhavan, held impromptu media conferences or submitted memoranda to the TDP leaders. Hundreds of aspirants for the ticket and their supporters thronged the party headquarters waiting for an audience with the TDP Chief N.Chandrababu Naidu.
