CM seeks details on AU affairs

Visakhapatnam

The Chief Minister Mr. N.Chandra babu Naidu has sought details of the incidents including the sacking of a professor and related actions by the Vice Chancellor othat breached the peace on the campus in Andhra University. On the representation made by the former MP MVVS Murty on Saturday, he directed the Secretary of Higher Education to inquire into incidents and submit a report to him.

Two naxals killed in separate encounters

A naxalite of the outlawed PWG was killed in an encounter with police on Sunday morning near Appayapalli village under Lingala police station limits. A PWG naxalite Mula Ramesh alias Ranjith was killed in an exchange of fire with police late last night in a forest area near Edulpalli village in Tothaguda mandal according to police press release.

Naxals blast guesthouse at Visakhapatnam

Extremists of the PWG, which is observing a protest week, blasted the guesthouse of the Forest department at Sarbannapalem village in Koyyuru mandal on Sunday.

Congress cadres to join TDP today

Nizamabad

In what is being billed as a set back to the Pradesh Congress Committee president D.Srinivas, in his Nizamabad Assembly constituency, a large number of Congress cadres including a couple of leader are set to join the TDP in the presence of the Chief Minister N.Chandrbabu Naidu in Hyderabad on Monday. According to sources a number of staunch followers of the PCC chief and at least two party councilors besides ward and booth committee leaders along with their supporters are going to Hyderabad in a rally. The leaders and cadres are openly criticizing their continued neglected by Mr.Srinivas.

TDP leaders resign in protest in Amalapuram

Several TDP leaders who included party functionaries, ZPTC, MPTCs, MPPs and sarpanchs from the mandals of Allavaram, Amalapuram, Inavilli and Upplaguptam announced resignations to the party as a protest against denial of party ticket to the district party President Nimmakayala Chinarajappa.
