Chandrababu Naidu alleges Congress-PWG nexus

The Chief Minister Mr.N.Chandrababu Naidu said here on Friday that the Congress is hand-in-glove with the PWG naxalites. Addressing before participating in the funeral of M.Venkataraju, the slain husband of the Minister for Tribal Welfare M. Manikumari, he asked the people to retaliate the PWG violence, as they are targeting Dalits and Backward Class leaders under the feeling that it could rule through the power of Gun. He alleged that the Congress was trying to liquidate its political rivals in connivance with the PWG and pointed out through 33 TDP functionaries had been killed by the extremists after the announcement of elections, Congress leaders are maintaining a stoic silence.

AirTel opens Zonal Office in Visakhapatnam

Bharati Mobile Ltd., has opened its new Airtel Service Centre-cum-Zonal Office at CBM Compound on Friday. Inaugurating the new office, its chief operating officer, K.Srinivas said that it would address the needs of the customers of Visakhatnam and adjoining district covering five districts in North Andhra.

TDP goes to EC on charges of Congress and TRS closer to naxals

In a rather unusual request, the ruling Telugu Desam Party today urged the Election Commission to 'Prevent the Congress and TRS from indulging in anti democratic acts of supporting extremists'. The TDP made this plea through a memorandum submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer against the backdrop of a spate of attacks on its party workers by naxalites, the latest being the killing of M.Venkata Raju, husband of the Tribal Welfare Minister M. Manikumari on Thursday.

Congress alleges use of TV channel for campaign by TDP

Congress leaders have petitioned the Chief Election Commissioner against the use of C-TV , a local Telugu channel by the TDP to campaign on its behalf. Former MLAs J.Ramamohanarao and N.Rahuveera Reddy in a letter to the CEC, on Friday said the new channel which had unlinking facilities to two studios, RK Studio and Concept, and owned by K.Raghavendrarao, Adviser, Electronic Media and GK Mohan, Technical in charge were beaming programmes in favour of TDP which is clear violation of the Election Code declared and hence, liable for legal action.

CPI(M) to contest in Khammam

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) state secretary said on Friday that the party would field its candidates from three Assembly constituencies and one Parliamentary constituency in Khammam.

96 Inter students booked for malpractice

Hyderabad

As many as 96 students were booked for malpractice in the Intermediate Public Examination conducted. Of the 96 cases, 23 were booked in Medak district and 20 in Adilabad district according to a press release.

TDP brings out booklet targeting KCR

The Telugu Desam Party today released a mutli colored booklet lampooning the Telangana Rashtra Samithi President K.Chandrasekararao for allegedly shifting his stand on fundamental issues. The Booklet consisting of 35 pages is illustrated liberally with cartoons depicting the TRS chief in different avatars.

50 farm labourers injured as tractor overturns in Krishna
