TDP - BJP reach seat sharing accord

Hyderabad

The Telugu Desam Party and the BJP have reached an agreement on seat sharing under which the latter is allotted 27 Assembly and 9 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh. The deal was clinched after the BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan held marathon discussions lasting five hours with the TDP chief Mr.N.Chandrababunaidu.

Many Intermediate and SSC students booked

Hyderabad

On the first day of the intermediate public examination on Wednesday as many as 153 students were booked for malpractices and various offences in 1805 centers in the State. In the SSC examination 51 cases were booked for various reasons as per the sources.

Telangana, Vidarbha not on our Agenda - Advani

The Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani said that the second round of talks with All Parties Hurriyat conference leaders would be held in Delhi on March 27 marking an important step in bringing peace in Jammu and Kashmir. After a breakfast meeting with the AP Chief Minister, he told media persons that amid hectic electioneering, he would fulfill the promise he had made to the Hurriyat leadership of holding the second round of talks before March end.

Distribution of CMEY bags with CM's photo stopped

The State Election authorities have ordered immediate stoppage of distribution of CMEY bags bearing Chief Minister N.Chandrababunaidu picture and action against the officials responsible for it. The Chief Electoral Officer said it was a poll violation.

Sambar dies in accident near Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam

A sambar was found dead on the national highway near Hanumanthawaka junction in the city on Wednesday morning. The deer was said to have strayed on to the road from the reserve forest area of Kambalakonda close by and died due to injury caused in the neck possibly by a vehicle in a hit and run case. The Zoo officials stated that it does not belong to the zoo.

CPI blames Congress for failure of talks

Hyderabad

An angry CPI(M) on Tuesday walked out of seat sharing talks with the Congress after rejecting the latter's offer of eight Assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat. Later they released their first list for 16 Assembly and two parliamentary seats while speaking to presspersons, CPI(M) General Secretary said.

BJP not against of smaller states - says Advani

Warangal

The Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani said that his party is not against of smaller states while addressing a massive gathering here. He categorically said that his party is not averse of creating smaller states including Telangana if the people wished so.
