TDP releases election manifesto

Hyderabad

The Chief Minister Mr.N.Chandra babu Naidu released an election manifesto. The TDP chief promised creation of a Council for Development of Backward areas. He said that TDP is committed to the development of backward areas and had ensured a nine per cent growth in Telangana. The proposed council comprising experts will prepare a comprehensive plan for development of backward villages to district level. The manifesto promised investments to the tune of Rs.sixty thousand crores during next 5 year years to transform the rural economy.

Vote for Change - says Sonia Gandhi

Nandyal

The Congress president Sonia Gandhi launched her party's election campaign in the south by seeking a 'vote for change' and appealing the people to reject the 'corrupt and scam ridden' government at the Centre. Addressing a massive gathering at Nandyal, the heart of the backward Rayalaseema region Ms.Gandhi categorically criticized the scam ridden government.

Four sitting MP's gets listed in Congress first list

New Delhi

The Congress Party has released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. The list of candidates was released by Party Media Cell Incharge Ambika Soni.
4 members from Andhra Pradesh were listed in it. These includes

  • Congress Spokesman and Senior member Jaipal Reddy from Miryalguda
  • Renuka Choudary from Khammam
  • YS Vivekananda Reddy from Cuddapah
  • Botsa Satyanarayana from Bobbili

CPM not happy with the Congress first list

The CPM expressed dissatisfaction at the decision of Congress to release its first list of candidates even when the discussions between the two parties in regard to seat sharing was going on.

MPP chief and gunman shot dead

Mahabubnagar

The Addkal mandal parishad president Kandoor Narayana of Telugu Desam and his gun man were shot dead by naxalites on Wednesday on the premises of the junior college at Addakal.

Upendra to head Congress Election Panel

Hyderabad

The AP Congress Committee president D.Srinivas has constituted an election affairs committee with P.Upendra former MP as its chairman. The committee will look into the matters relating to the Election Commission, election coordination with district Congress committees and all contesting candidates.

Vigyan Rail for city

Visakhapatnam

Vigyan Rail, a science and technology exhibition on rails will be in the city from 23rd to 26th March. The 12 coach train exhibition was arranged by the Indian Railways in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology to highlight the achievements made by the country since independence.
