32 Prathighatana naxalites surrender before YSR

The undergournd outfit, CPI-ML Prathighatana, suffered a body blow with half of its armed cadre of 32 extremists' surrending before the Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy along with their weapons on Sunday.

Balakrishna produced before Magistrate

Hyderabad

Film actor Balakrishna who was apprehended at 3.20am on Sunday at the Care Hospital amid high drama, would be examined by a team of Government Doctors from time to time to verify the opinion of Care Hospital Doctors about Balakrishna health status.

The decision was taken to ensure the film actor would not take advance of alleged 'favourble'medical opinion from Care hospital Doctors, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner RP Singh told a press conference on Sunday.

Balakrishana was produced before the Fifth Metropolitan Magistrate at the latter's residence in Seceunderabad and brought back to the Care Hospital following his plea the he required further medical treatment.

The Magistrate directed the police to produce him in the court on Monday morning.

Two farmers end life

In Nizamabad and Karimanager two farmers committed suicide due to crop failure and debt ridden.

SHGs to be converted into Co-op socieities

Guntur

An amendment to the law will be made by the State Government through ordinance to convert all self-help and DWCRA groups into cooperative societies so that they can get loan at a lower interest, the Minister for Cooperation, Kanna Lakshminayana said.

The State Government is inclined to believe that the People's War will give up armed struggle as it has received indications from mediators who are brokering peace between the Government and naxalies.'We are getting positive signals from and we have no reason to disbelieve them' the Chief Minister asserted on Sunday.
